Doctoral Program \u201cBiomedicine and Health\u201d<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
The doctoral program \u201cBiomedicine and Health\u201d represents the third cycle of studies at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Sarajevo, aligned with European standards of higher education. The program is designed to develop research competencies in the fields of basic and clinical medical sciences, public health, and related disciplines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The program lasts tri godine (\u0161est semestara)<\/strong> i nosi 180 ECTS bodova<\/strong>, od \u010dega 60 ECTS<\/strong> otpada na organiziranu nastavu, a 120 ECTS<\/strong> na rad na doktorskoj disertaciji. Nastava se organizira u poslijepodnevnim satima kako bi se omogu\u0107ilo studiranje uz rad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Curriculum<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
As part of the organized coursework, students attend mandatory courses from the module \u201cFundamentals of Scientific Research,\u201d worth a total of 40 ECTS credits. These courses cover topics such as research methodology, biostatistics, scientific writing, and principles of evidence-based medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition, students choose elective courses from one or more of the following modules: Experimental Biomedicine, Clinical Biomedicine, and Public Health, earning an additional 20 ECTS credits. This allows for the individualization of the study program according to each candidate\u2019s research interests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Research Work and Dissertation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Work on the doctoral dissertation includes independent research under mentorship, participation in scientific projects, research stays at scientific institutions, and publication of scientific papers. The dissertation may be completed through the traditional format or via the \u201cby publication\u201d model. \u201epublikacijom do disertacije\u201c<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Enrollment and Call for Applications<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
The call for applications<\/strong> is published once a year, and the program begins with the new academic year. The admission process includes an evaluation of the candidate\u2019s scientific activity and an interview\u2014there is no entrance exam. The program is open to candidates from Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad who have completed an integrated medical study program or another related program (minimum 360 ECTS credits).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
