Dr. Lejla Alić Becomes the First Recipient of the Prestigious ADLM General Research Grant Outside the United States

Dr. Lejla Alić, Assistant Professor at the Department of Medical Biochemistry, Faculty of Medicine, University of Sarajevo, has been awarded the prestigious ADLM General Research Grant for 2025. With this achievement, Dr. Alić becomes the first scientist outside the United States to receive this recognition, granted by the Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine (ADLM).

The grant is awarded to research projects with the potential to significantly advance clinical laboratory diagnostics and contribute to the improvement of global healthcare. Until now, this prestigious support has been reserved for scientists from leading global universities, and for the first time, it is being awarded to a researcher from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

This recognition affirms the outstanding scientific and professional dedication of Assistant Professor Alić and represents a significant encouragement for the development of science and international collaboration in the field of laboratory medicine in our country.
