Faculty of Medicine as a Partner in the New Erasmus+ Project “ADawarE – Dementia Awareness Education”

The goal of the ADawarE project is to improve knowledge and raise awareness about the possibilities of preventing and early recognizing dementia.

Project activities will focus on two priority groups: members of immigrant communities and residents of rural and hard-to-reach areas.

As part of the project, the following is planned:

  • Establishment of an open database with educational materials and activities
  • Organization of workshops and online training sessions
  • Promotion of results through scientific publications, webinars, and media
  • Exchange of successful practices in dementia awareness among European countries

The implementation of the project is expected to increase digital literacy among older adults and their families, strengthen the competencies of caregivers and volunteers, and reduce the stigma associated with dementia.

The project coordinator is Helse Stavanger HF (Norway), and the partners are: Alzheimer Hellas (Greece), University for Continuing Education Krems (Austria), University Psychiatric Hospital Vrapče (Croatia) and University of Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina).

Project lead on behalf of the University of Sarajevo – Faculty of Medicine:
Prof. dr. Asija Začiragić

This project is funded by the European Union through Erasmus+ Programme under grant agreement no. 2025-1-NO01-KA220-ADU-000351372.
