In accordance with the Rules of Study for the Third Cycle at the University of Sarajevo and the Decisions of the Senate of the University of Sarajevo dated September 26, 2025, the University of Sarajevo – Faculty of Medicine hereby informs the public of the scheduled doctoral dissertation defenses of the following candidates:

Mr. sci. dr. Melika Bukvić will defend her doctoral dissertation titled:: “The Role of Sarcopenia in the Diagnosis and Course of Chronic Liver Diseases” on Monday, October 27, 2025, at 2:00 PM, in the “Prof. Dr. Aleksandar Sabovljev” Amphitheatre, Faculty of Medicine, Čekaluša 90.

Mr. sci. dr. Zudi Osmani will defend his doctoral dissertation titled: “Prevalence and Significance of Cardiovascular Risk Factors with a Score of 4 to 7 According to the WHO Clinical Progression Scale in Relation to Disease Outcome in Hospitalized Patients Infected with Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2)” on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 11:30 AM, in the Defense Room (MSE Room 1), Lamela B, 3rd Floor, Faculty of Medicine, Čekaluša 90.

Mr. sci. dr. Nejra Prohić will defend her doctoral dissertation titled: “The Importance of Detecting Subclinical Pulmonary Congestion Using Lung Ultrasound in Hemodialysis Patients” on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at 12:00 PM, in the Defense Room (MSE Room 1), Lamela B, 3rd Floor, Faculty of Medicine, Čekaluša 90.

Dr. Mirza Sivro will defend his doctoral dissertation titled: “The Effect of Peri- and Postoperative High-Dose Ascorbic Acid on Functional Recovery and Postoperative Pain in Patients with Trochanteric Fracture Following Intramedullary Osteosynthesis During a Three-Month Follow-Up Period” on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 3:00 PM, in the Defense Room (MSE Room 1), Lamela B, 3rd Floor, Faculty of Medicine, Čekaluša 90.
