Erasmus+ is a European Union programme that enables students to study or undertake internships at universities across Europe.
Financial Support
The Erasmus+ programme provides financial support in the form of a scholarship that covers daily and travel expenses. The scholarship is paid by the host institution abroad. The amount of the scholarship varies depending on the host country.
Who Can Apply
Eligible applicants include:Students of the Faculty of Medicine enrolled in the integrated study programmes “Medicine” and “International Medical Degree Programme” with a minimum of 30 ECTS credits earned; Students enrolled in the third cycle (PhD) studies; Students who are repeating a year or have extended their studies (absolvent status) are also eligible to apply.
How to Apply
Students can apply through open calls for international mobility published on the websites of the Faculty of Medicine and the University of Sarajevo.
Applications are submitted online, along with the required documentation, in accordance with the instructions provided in the call. After applications are received, candidates are selected based on the needs and requirements of the host institution.
Duration of Mobility
Students may spend one semester or one academic year at another university. The minimum duration of mobility is three months. It is important to note that semester schedules may vary between universities in terms of start and end dates.
Selection Criteria
How to Choose Courses During the Exchange
Host institutions offer a list of available courses for incoming Erasmus+ students. Students may choose compulsory and elective courses taught and assessed in English.
When selecting courses to attend and complete at the host university, students must consult the International Cooperation Coordinator and relevant faculty members at their home institution to ensure the selected courses are appropriate.
Students may combine courses from different academic years, but the minimum number of selected courses must total 25 ECTS credits. Once the selected courses are approved as compatible with the home curriculum, they will be confirmed and included in the Learning Agreement. During the mobility period, students retain all rights and obligations at their home faculty.
Upon Completion of Mobility
Students who complete their mobility at a foreign institution receive a Transcript of Records and a Certificate of Mobility.Based on the submitted transcript, the exams are fully recognized. Passed courses, earned ECTS credits, and grades are recorded in the student’s official academic records, and the name of the host institution becomes part of the Diploma Supplement.
Položeni predmeti, ostvareni ECTS bodovi i ocjene unose se u službene evidencije studenta, a naziv inostrane institucije domaćina mobilnosti postaje sastavni dio dodatka diplome.
