In collaboration with the departments of the Faculty of Medicine, other faculties of the University of Sarajevo, healthcare institutions, ministries, professional associations, and the pharmaceutical industry, CIBS continuously develops diverse forms of biomedical education. The categorization and evaluation of programs are conducted based on specific criteria and procedures for the professional development of physicians in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH), as well as the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS), as defined by a separate regulation and education program.
By participating in a specific type of program, the participant acquires:
Program participants may include medical doctors and other professionals involved in healthcare who meet the eligibility criteria specified in the application for individual programs.
Knowledge and skill assessment within the programs is conducted in accordance with the methods proposed in the program outline, aligned with the educational objectives.
All participants and lecturers receive certificates of participation in the program. For programs that include assessment of acquired knowledge and skills, participants are required to pass the designated tests in order to receive a certificate (diploma) of program completion. Upon completion of a domestic program, participants and lecturers are issued a bilingual certificate in Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian and English. For international programs, certificates are issued in English only. Invited lecturers receive a certificate indicating their status as a guest lecturer or invited speaker.
As a general rule, all participants are required to pay a registration fee for all programs. The amount of the fee is proposed by the Program Director and reviewed and approved by the Program Council. Exceptionally, sponsored programs or programs organized within projects with defined sources of funding may be offered free of charge. Employees of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Sarajevo (MFUNSA), have the right to participate in certain programs without paying the registration fee, subject to prior approval by the Dean.
All programs are subject to a process of evaluation and quality improvement. Evaluation is primarily conducted through written surveys completed by participants and lecturers. As an additional form of evaluation, participant interviews, focus groups, group discussions, or lecturer interviews may also be organized.
All programs are organized and implemented based on an approved plan and curriculum. Program implementation begins upon receiving applications (online or written) from the required minimum number of candidates.
