Announcement for enrollment in the first year of the International Medical Degree Program, academic 2026/2027 year

Enrolment in the first year, 2026/2027 study year, of International Medical Degree Program at the University of Sarajevo – Faculty of Medicine, will be organised in the period from September 21 to September 25 2026, until 15:30 pm.

All admitted students (admitted for academic year 2026/2027) are obliged to submit following documents to the Student Affairs Office:

1. Application enrollment form in which the study program is correctly indicated – it is printed from the eUNSA platform.
2. Three (3) photos (the passport size and style) – full name and surname (in capital letters) should be written on the back of one of the photos.
3. Original transcript (of each secondary/high school year) and secondary/high school diploma and (international) state graduation exam diploma (originals of uploaded documents).
   a. For applicants who finished secondary/high school education in Bosnia and Herzegovina:

· Original transcript and secondary/high school diploma/(international) state graduation exam diploma.

b. For applicants who obtained secondary/high school education abroad:

· Original transcript and secondary/high school diploma/(international) state graduation exam diploma and a court translation of documents.

· Certificate of nostrification/equivalence issued by the Cantonal Ministry of Education and Youth OR a letter of confirmation issued by the Cantonal Ministry of Education and Youth confirming that the equivalence procedure is being in progress

Important note for the enrolment of applicants who obtained secondary/high school education abroad: Applicants who obtained secondary/high school education abroad must submit verified copy or original transcript and secondary/high school diploma along with a certificate of nostrification/equivalence issued by the Ministry of Education and Youth of Canton Sarajevo. If the process of diploma nostrification/equivalence is not finished by the submission deadline, candidates should submit notarised translation of documents (a court translation). The certificate of recognition is the prerequisite for the enrolment in September. In some exceptional cases, the candidates can be conditionally enrolled into the first year even before the validation (nostrification) of their high school certificates or equivalency has been completed under condition that they present a document confirming that they have applied for validation or equivalence procedure, which is being in progress. The Ministry of Education and Youth of Canton Sarajevo are responsible for the procedure of secondary/high school diploma nostrification/equivalence.

5. Birth certificate (original birth certificate for nationals of Bosna and Herzegovina and a court translation for foreign applicants)

6. Citizenship certificate/Passport copy
a. Citizenship certificate (original certificate for nationals of Bosnia and Herzegovina) or
b. Passport copy or other legal document to verify citizenship (for foreign applicants)

7. Proof of English Language knowledge
8. Proof of payments as follows: 

a) Proof of payment of the tuition fee –first instalment in amount of 6,000.00 BAM

Note: Tuition fee for the International Medical Degree Program is 12,000.00 BAM per each academic year. Tuition fee can be paid in full amount or in two equal instalments – before enrollment into the winter semester and before enrolment in the summer semester. Students will sign the Study Contract with the University of Sarajevo – Faculty of Medicine.

• Proof of payment of the ISS support system of the Faculty of Medicine in amount of 10,00 BAM
• Proof of payment of the ISS support system of the University of Sarajevo in amount of 10,00 BAM
• Proof of payments for enrolment forms in amount of 30, 00 BAM

Note: Admission/Enrolment Form, Semester Form, ŠV-20 Form and Index (Upisnica/Indeks) will be available at the Student Affairs Office.

• Proof of a pre-admission medical examination – can be done only in the University Students’ Health Center (JU Zavod za zaštitu zdravlja studenata, Patriotske lige 36).
• Proof of a sanitary-medical examination/nasal-throat swab test (“sanitarna knjižica”) – can be done in the Institute for Public Health (Federalni zavod za javno zdravstvo, Titova 9; Zavod za javno zdravstvo Kantona Sarajevo, Mustafe Pintola 1, Ilidža).
• Study contract – signed by the student in two copies in official languages of Bosnia and Herzegovina and two copies in English Language. Study contract is available on the website: www.mf.unsa.ba 

NOTE: Deadline for submission of the pre-admission medical examination and sanitary-medical examination/nasal-throat swab test (“sanitarna knjižica”) is prior to beginning of the academic year – first Monday in October)
